Eva Scow is an American mandolinist and violinist. She began playing music at a young age, beginning with classical piano and violin at age 4. She has played in orchestras and various groups, exploring different kinds of music from Bluegrass to Brazilian Jazz. In 2008 she released her debut CD as a co-leader with guitarist Dusty Brough "Sharon By the Sea." Eva is also a member of the contemporary jazz quartet Espacio, and the funk/soul band The Experience. Eva has recorded for many projects, including mandolinist David Grisman's album "Tone Poets", and also with the Anthony Wilson Nonet on their CD "Power of Nine". In 2006, Eva was selected as one of sixteen musicians to participate in a week-long workshop of the bassist Edgar Meyer, culminating in a performance at Carnegie Hall. She continues to perform regularly as a bandleader/independent musician with several groups in California. She is a music educator for Central Unified School District and for the Milestones Youth Jazz Workshop program. She is equally at home in the classical, folk and jazz idioms.
